SURROGACY IN MEXICO

NEST AND CO IN MEXICO

From the moment we met our partners from Mexico we knew that we wanted to work with them.

Unlike many competitors, we feel they have the same values as Nest And Co. in the sense that they work to make people happy and always prioritize quality over quantity.

Furthermore, they also strive to find the best partners to be able to give families more options to suit their preferences and budget and are even able to offer hybrid programmes with both Mexico and the USA whilst at the same time, remaining involved in the process from start to finish.

With over 10 years experience in the sector, not to mention first hand experience as parents through surrogacy, we feel confident that they share the same principles and standards as NEST itself.

WHY CHOOSE MEXICO FOR YOUR SURROGACY JOURNEY?

Mexico makes surrogacy possible for all kinds of families, such as singles, same sex couples or non married heterosexual couples. Even in cases where fertility issues mean neither parent is able to provide their own genetic material, they can still opt for a Mexican based programme.

The racial and ethic diversity of South America makes it possible to find a wide variety of donors and the proximity of Mexico to the United States has led to the creation of many cross-border or hybrid surrogacy programs where parents can benefit from lower IVF costs in Mexico and a birth in Mexico, or the United States.

Paternity is granted by a court decision and children can either receive the passport of the country where they were born or in some cases, depending on the nationality of the parents, apply directly for a passport from this country.

SURROGATES IN MEXICO

The role of a surrogate or gestational carrier is the most important one in your entire programme. For this reason the surrogate is very much a part of your journey and her wellbeing and care is a fundamental for us.

Just googling the word “surrogates in Mexico” will uncover bad press about the treatment and poor management of gestational carriers but this is certainly not the case for all providers. Our partners are very much focused on making sure surrogates are taken care of and supported at every stage of the process.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE LEGAL PROCESS

Much like in the United States, surrogacy rules in Mexico vary depending on state law, not federal law.

For 1997- 2015. Tabasco was the destination for international intended parents, particularly those from neighbouring countries seeking lower prices. Up until the change in the law, this was the only state where surrogacy in Mexico was considered legal.

Now Tabasco only accepts national couples who meet certain requirements leaving 2 other types of states; those where surrogacy is illegal and those where no particular law exists.

The latter is how international surrogacy programs are still able to operate.

Faced with this lack of legislation (which is a reality in many other countries by many couples not able to opt for Ukraine or USA) as long as you fully understand what these restrictions and regulations mean for you and you are supported by a reputable agency, there is no reason why you would not follow in the footsteps of many other families.
